Never a dull moment!

My weeks are never dull. I went to see my cousin in the hospital Saturday and things are slowly, but surely getting better. She should have gotten the catheter out of her head today. Next surgery is tomorrow. Then on Thursday they are going to wean her off the ventilator, and the sedation. I’m going down again Friday. I can’t stay away for too long. On Saturday they turned her sedation off lowered her pain medicine. They kept trying to get a response, but she didn’t want to I guess. She was running a fever, so they said that was wearing her out. I talked to her for two and a half hours to get her to respond. She just wanted to sleep her fever away I guess. On a different not, last night my three year old tried to paint his toe nails. I’m guessing because he watched me do it earlier that day. At least he did it on the hard wood floor instead of in the chair like I did. I also swear that boys do not aim when they are in the bathroom. I swear they just close their eyes and spin around. Today, I had to wash the rugs and mop and bleach the floors and the toilet. That is becoming a pretty routine job. I’ve washed my rugs so much, I’m sure that before long they will wear out and I will have to replace them. We also had a major melt down when my five year old was sitting on the toilet and my three year old had to go. He had the bright idea to aim between Gavin’s legs to go potty. He’s not supposed to stand up yet to potty any way; he is too short for that. So he peed all over the wall and floor and the toilet.  Needless to say, my five year old started screaming because Hayes peed on his “beans”. He’s a bit of a germ freak, so he had to take a bath. He wouldn’t let me use a baby wipe to wipe him off. Also, today is the second day of the new time change. Please tell me I am not the only one that slept in this morning. I woke up ten minutes before I had to have Gavin at school. Thank goodness we only live a few blocks away from school. My sister in law, Jami was here, so I left Hayes in bed and rushed out the door with Gavin knowing I would only be gone 5 minutes. He was still in bed when I got back. This is crazy, because that child is up by six every morning. On a good not, my husband clean the garage and the breeze way, he also cleaned and re-arranged the living room, he went through his clothes in his closet and bagged them up. He did dishes and helped do laundry. I have idea what has gotten into him. I think he was keeping the boys busy while I was buried in Algebra homework!

  2. Wow, after reading your post I feel as if I have never personally experienced what being busy truly is. I understand your disappointment in the fact that you feel as if you will always have to clean up after someone else's mistakes. I hope you will continue to receive good help from your significant other. I will also keep your cousin in my prayers. I hope you are able to achieve all that you set out to achieve.

  3. "Peed on his beans" That is so funny! My face hurt from laughing. I know how you feel about being busy. I have three girls and a baby boy, ages 8, 5, 3, and 2. I hope your cousin gets better.
