Sweet summa time

I am ready for summer! I know we have all been saying that for quite a while now. I promise I will not even complain when it comes time to mow the yard! We played in the mud last Sunday after washing my car. It was so much fun getting the hose out and doing it by hand. It seems like a lot of people do not do it that way anymore. Which I would rather just go to the car wash myself, but the boys enjoy it so much more when we use the hose. Which, is good because I had to hose them down after the mud bath they had in the drive way. After Sunday the weather got cold again. Yesterday was the first day we could play outside. We shot BB guns, the boys rode their bikes, and we even went to the park. I hate sand with a passion, but it had been last summer since we had gone last, so I decided, what the hell. They had a blast and were covered head to toe in sand. I had to strip them down in the breeze way and shake all the sand off. It gets into every crook and cranny, and takes more than one bath to get it all off. I even found a couple ticks which are about the worse bug, or whatever they are, next to spiders. So, needless to say, after seeing them, I have been itching non-stop since. I put on a pretty good front in front of the kids about bugs. Gavin will hold them, but Hayes is not a fan. I will hold them and try to hand them to him. He would like to hold them, but he just cannot bring himself to do it. I hate all bugs. From hoppers, to ants, they are all disgusting. Even lightning bugs are creepy little critters. It is amazing what you will do for your kids! Even handle bugs! I am still itching as I write this. Ugh!
Well, it has been a while sense I posted something about my cousin Amanda. I am not sure if I have said already, but she is out of ICU and we are in the process of sending her Lincoln Nebraska. There is a rehab facility there that will help with her brain injury, along with the physical part. The name of it is Madonna. Yes, Madonna. It is a really cool place. They even help you learn how to go grocery shopping and get in and out of a car. They have these little mock places that will help them in their everyday life. I went to see her last Friday and I got a smirk out of her. She holds eye contact and understands everything you say. I washed her hair for her. I’m not happy with KU Medical with how they do not keep her clean. Maybe that’s not their job, but I know she would feel so much better if she were clean. I know the rest of us do. If she isn’t clean this week, I’m going to have some choice words for them. Oh, and while I’m thinking about it, thanks to everyone that had something encouraging to say. I really appreciate it! It means a lot!

  2. I love the time when Spring and Summer seem to be coming together. It's not cold and it's not hot. You can open your windows and have a nice breeze blowing thru.
